Hidden in Cordillera are the Benguet, Ifugao, Kalingga, Bontoc, and Apayao provinces. Within these provinces many tribes of Filipinos, collective known as the “Igorots,” who have been untouched by Spanish Colonization. They have kept their ancient ways, most notably being head hunters and worshipers of sacred birds. Dance and music play an integral part in the lifestyle of these mountain people. Whether it is for victory in war, thanksgiving for bountiful harvests, or courtship, the songs and dances of the Cordillera are nothing short of electrifying...
